1.19.16 - Collection Update

Just a tiny update as I recieved some Yamato goodies in the mail recently. I want to give a shout out to Shan, who helped me get most of it. :) Thanks, man.

(Ignore poor BAB Derpy, she wouldn't fit on my other shelves~) I'm in the middle of moving, too, so things are kind of a mess, BUT, the bath Gabumon plush at the bottom is my new addition. You can see the larger version on the top right. :) These are super cute!
I was super excited to win Shan's auction for these magnets! I think I paid $40 for them or more and they were exclusive to the UK, I believe.

Lastly is this bag I got from Australia. It's cute and the strap is super adjustable! Not much more than what you see. I believe it only has the single large pocket. It's velcro. You can use it as a large handbag or a shoulder bag.

(12.10 - Update!) 12.9.15 - HobbyStock posts phone accessories

Hobbystock has posted a few new items. An iphone6 case (3105 Yen) and some headphones (1583 Yen). I've been in dire need of some new headphones and I like these retractable ones. They have S and M sized earbuds. I may order two, just because~ I can't say much regarding the iphone case (I'm an Android user) but it looks clunky but cute.

FYI, looks like there will possibly be 2 waves of orders on HS as two entries of the same item were listed. :3

As always, HS stuff tends to appear on AmiAmi within a few days. I'll post when they're up~

Edit: They are up for preorder (released in March) on AmiAmi as of 12.10!

12.2.15 - New gashapons appear, new cafe bookmark

News has been slow. Most of my efforts have been in tracking down the cafe merchandise and the theatre stuff, but it's very tough! I found out that most cafes already sold out of merchandise. Not only that, but you have to win a small lottery (raffle) to get inside in the first place and hope the merchandise is availible. Very tough. Out of five or so items, I've only secured one two on Y!JP right now. I've lost over four auctions in the past week... sigh. FYI, this is the release week for the Yamato/Gabumon signboard and it's been running around 2000 Yen ($17 USD). They'll be more scarce after this, so I would get one if you want it!

Admist that, I even found (IIRC) new merchandise, a bookmark:

On the bright side, these gashapons appeared on Twitter. They are 300 yen each and random in Japanese gashapon machines. These may come up for preorder on various websites in sets, though! So keep an eye out. (Also wanted to note that the tags include Ken's Crest of Kindness and either the Crest of Destiny/Miracles.. really interesting!)

11.27.15 - New Yamato / Garurumon GEM and new cafe charms~

AmiAmi has the Memo/Magnet set!

Also, this image has been going around. It's in the GEM line and probably will retail around $80-$100 USD like the Takeru/Hikari ones. Not sure if if will be PB exclusive but I imagine Crunchyroll and DenDen Hobby will get them too. If I had to guess it will go up in early 2016.

Also, thanks to Jess over at my group on Facebook, she found these exclusive cafe charms. They're random like gashapon and obviously exclusive to Japan, so if you're gonna track these down you may be scouring Y!JP auctions.

11.18.15 - More new merch appears on HobbyStock! (And AmiAmi)

Some new merchandise appeared on HobbyStock. It's all for tri (but whose complaining)? Unfortunetly I'm late to the game here. The can badges are listed as "stock is becoming low", basically, but the other 2 items are pre-order, it appears. Also, I'm pretty confident this stuff will show up on sites like AmiAmi (since other items like the stickers and keychains recently appeared!), so maybe patience is a virtue, considering I know most of us Digi-fans are pretty broke! Anyway, onto the merchandise!

Tri Chibi Can Badge Set (See the Digimon set here) God I want this Yamato badge so much. It's too cute! I've only pictured Yamato here, but it's a set of the 8 children.
This one says it is availible for order for 2400 yen. Release date: November

Yamato and Gabumon Microfiber Towel
The other 8 children are availible. Product is listed for Reservations for 648 yen. Release date: January

Yamato and Gabumon Clear File
The other 8 children are availible. Product is listed for Reservations for 648 yen. Release date: January

Also, a tiny side note, but the Crest Metal Charms are up for preorder on Toei's shop. They ship in March.

EDIT: The previously announced pouches are on AmiAmi!

Gabumon Pouch - 2140 Yen
Gabumon Smartphone Cover - 3170 Yen
Gabumon IC Card Case - 1360 Yen

As always guys, I'll keep you up to date on any Yamato info. Please check back!

11.18.15 - New Gabumon merch appears on HobbyStock

Some new merchandise appeared on HobbyStock. It features the Digimon.

Gabumon Mini Pouch - 2678 Yen (for one pouch); the site says Backordered but there is no set reservation period, so perhaps it hasn't started yet. These ship in February.

Gabumon Smartphone Cover - 3698 Yen (for one slipcover). Site details: "The back surface can be installed only flat smartphone. ■ Material: PC, PU ■ measure of smartphone dimensions compatible with the present product: - about 140 × width 70 × thickness 10mm to the height camera position from the back top to the bottom is about 37mm lens (the bottom of the camera there is a flash smartphone until flash the lower will be the 37mm)"

Gabumon IC Card Case - 1706 Yen (per one case).

I probably won't be updating about these, so check back on the website if interested!

11.12.15 - New Animate Cafe drinks, bookmarks, and dishes!

I know, another update so soon. This is to cover some very Japan-only merch. We've previously discussed the Animate Cafe exclusive merchandise, but they are also serving themed food and drinks (on that note, I've been heavily updating the About Yamato Ishida page, go check it out!)

Yamato's "garlic fried rice"

Gabumon's drink: "blue curaçao syrup, whitewater drink, whipped cream, cone-shaped chocolate"
In other news, there are also some bookmarks. Yamato is featured on one with Taichi and there are two secrets:
As always, check back for updates!

10.15.15 - New magazine poster, tons of Toei webshop merch, GEM re-re-release, Gabumon UFO catcher

Since my internet is spotty, I'm a bit late to update, but hope you all enjoy it anyway.

Let me start by saying I'm leaving out some pretty cute Gabumon-relevant merch, so you may want to search Toei's Webshop and AmiAmi thoroughly.
Toei has more can badges (of course), except this time they are long! I am particularly pleased with this set, because not only is there lots of Yamato, but there's lots of characters represented, including Zero Two variants. The set retails for around $60 USD, but AmiAmi is kind enough to have preorders closer to $40. Thank you, AmiAmi, for rescuing my wallet.

On the bad news side of things, this art is reused for a new set of those damn randomized posters. You remember, the ones where you get 8 out of 16 variants randomly in a box? Ugh. Since Yamato had more than one or two in this set, I ordered 2 sets for around $55 USD, also from AmiAmi.

Also, somehow this sticker slipped through the cracks. It's still on AmiAmi, too, for around $5?

Now, I'd like to mention this cute Gabumon, at least. It's a crane prize, so check Y!JP for him:

Finally, there has been quite a bit of posters going on in various magazines. Here is the new Tri one to be released in Japan's Newtype November 2015 Issue but there are also non-poster related spreads in Animedia and HyperHobby.

Also, before this slips away, Yamato's GEM figure is getting a third release (second re-release). AmiAmi has him here.

9.17.15 - News keeps trickling in; more merchandise / interviews

Bokutachi has scans of the newest issue of V-JUMP, which includes an interview with Yoshimasa Hosoya. Unfortunetly, as of this posting, no one has translated them. Taichi and Sora's seiyuu are also in the interview.

In other news, Japanese webshop Animate has new Yamato / Gabumon items up for presale. Apparently the release date is (was?) 9/15/15. Taichi, Yamato, Hikari, and Takeru, along with their rookie Digimon and Digitama forms, appear to be the focus. Altogether my deposit was $29 USD for the following items. Here is a summary of what's availible:

Yamato Ishida Can Badge:
Price: 648 Yen (Appx $5 USD)

Yamato Ishida / Takeru Takaishi Clear File Set of 2:
Price: 756 Yen (Appx $6 USD) Note: I just posted Yamato's here. One of Takeru is also included.

Yamato Ishida Magnet:
Price: 648 Yen (Appx $5 USD)

Gabumon Magnet:
Price: 648 Yen (Appx $5 USD) Note: This may possibly be the cutest Gabumon ever.

Taichi and Yamato Hand Towel / Wash Cloth
Price: 540 Yen (Appx $4 USD)

9.14.15 - Tons of merchandise and some Tri. updates

Oh, gosh. So much news as of late! Be prepared for a long post Yamato fans.

First up, let's start with merchandise (considering it's time sensitive).

FINALLY, the DigiFES merchandise was added to Toei's webshop! You've seen my previous posts detailing the Yamato related merchandise: some plastic stands, can badges, and charms. Please note that the can badges are RANDOM buy 1 get 1 randomly, so only order if you like risking your cash. I found one on Y!JP, I'm going to stick it out to find the other. All other Yamato items can be purchases seperately.
You can buy the following items at Toei's Webshop.
No reservation date was given and even as I sent in my order through my deputy, some items were listed as "low stock", so keep in mind these are probably limited stock.

Next up in another web exclusive item. It's not directly Yamato related, but I felt it was worth mentioning. This amazing, large, polyster wall scroll (similar to a poster, but made of cloth), features the "Dragon Eye Lake" scene promotional poster. (I fangirl squealed when they kept the name. This was used in the original Japanese of the series', but to a Western fan it's more of a cool Digimon World reference). But uh, that price tag... Retails for 19940 Yen, around $190 USD.
Even further, we have a new rubber strap set [CharaRIDE]. I ordered mine through AmiAmi for around $40; Toei's Webshop has them also. Most people are saying these are packed in random boxes of 8, but all previous rubber straps were complete sets, so buying is kinda risky. You could always join my Facebook Digimon group (DigimonCollect@Facebook) to trade with others there.

Lastly, we have some tidbits about Tri thanks to the producer of the Tri as well as Taichi's new actor. I've posted the Yamato related ones below. You can read the original translation (by talented Onkei) at these links:
Part 1
Profile Bit: "Ishida Yamato- His love for his friends and his little brother hasn't changed. He still loves music, and he's still earnest about the things that he likes. The proactiveness and matured sides of him that you will chance to see from time to time will have an affect on the story, so please look forward to it."
Other: "On the other hand, Yamato still has the strong sense of justice that he had as a kid, and he’s grown up into the same fierce man who faces the hesitating Taichi and says, “Shouldn’t you be doing it this way?” The changes between the two, or rather, how the two grasp things differently, fits into “Digimon Adventure tri” and made me feel that people don’t always grow up in the same way. That sort of relationship between those two felt nice. "
I'm particularly happy that it seems Yamato and Takeru's relationship will be touched on.

Part 2
More profile: "Ishida Yamato with the Crest of Friendship: 2nd year in high school. He is in the class next door from Taichi and Sora. He forms a new band in high school and plays bass. Of course, he also does vocals."
Question was "If they had a party, who plays which part?": "Ishida Yamato: He’ll be in charge of the live background music with his newly practiced guitar. In the middle, Mimi will join in with the addition of singing and the entertainment heats up! "
Question was "Halloween: What sweet would everyone be?": "Ishida Yamato: I guess this idea is influenced by his French grandfather? Creme brulee. "

Yamato also appears in the new poster for Otomedia this month (as he did last month). Here is the poster and the line art that appears in the this month's issue. Scans credit to DigiPost.

A few more FES items appearing - 8.17.15

Some more merchandise popped up over at Premium Bandai, including the mesh cap of the Omegamon emblem, previously only availible at DigiFes/Toei's webshop in the visor version. The cap costs around $30 USD and will be availible for preorder until next Monday, the 24th! There are also other items like wristbands, totes, Taichi-related apparel, all availible. No word on the standees on either site or Y!JP.
I also added a few more search terms to the How to Shop page.

7.30.15 - Omegamon / Omnimon D-Arts "Our War Game" Version / Reminder: MetalGarurumon ODE

A new Yamato related item was revealed. This is a new version of the Omnimon D-Arts, made with "Our War Game" in mind.

I was really, really hoping for full colors of Taichi and Yamato, but they've opted for translucent color instead. Not a total downside, as blue is my favorite color, and I can still give Yamato the limelight he deserves.

However, this figure is a bit more ($70ish instead of the usual $45 most D-Arts are running, like MetalGarurumon Original Designer's Edition, which is due next month).

I don't know enough about the two Omnimon D-Arts to compare them, but I hear this one has some minor mold changes. The most fuss I'm hearing is over the cape, which is either cloth (wow) or has several variants you can attach (still, action, ect.).

Either way, I feel, especially if you're like me and didn't get the other versions, that this is worth the pick up. Just be prepared to pay a deputy service when it goes up for pre-order on the Premium Bandai Webshop. (Yep, another in a long line of exclusives.) Maybe we'll get lucky and he will get an Amazon release like the others have in the past?

7.24.15 - Site updates + Show Accurate Digivice

Just a few small site updates.
  •  Doujinshi Wish List / Collection pages updated
  • "Other Merchandise" page updated with more can badges and a scrunchie.
  • "Figures and Keychains" page HEAVILY updated with tons of new stuff, including Digi-Colle.
  • "Flats" page updated with posters/sketchbook.
  • Small adjustments made to the "How to Shop" page.
Also, the Premium Model / Show Accurate Digivice went up for preorder today. I'm still on the fence about getting one. I hear it isn't an LCD game but *theories* imply it may light up based on the show colors, play Brave Heart, ect. I really would like one. The preorder ends in September!

Til next time

7.18.15 - DigiFes merch updates

Before you get excited, nothing super-Yamato related has been revealed, except a new Omnimon / Omegamon figure, labeled "Our War Game Vers." that features a new mold and Taichi and Yamato on the shoulders. We only have a tiny silhoutte as of now. I'm glad I waited on previous versions because I can't wait to display this one from the right side. Yamato/MetalGarurumon, you'll get your time in the sun, buddy.

As far as DigiFes Merch is concerned, there's been some stuff like glowsticks with the logo of the event, but nothing character specific yet. For now, the only new Yamato-related item seems to be the previously mentioned Charatch watch, but then, you have to buy the entire set. I'm hoping to find the blue shell down the road, seperately.

Edit: I take that back. There was a desktop calendar on the webshop that featured all eight kids. Doesn't appear to be any other images in the tiny calendar, so this was a pass for me, too.

Will update when there's more! Make sure you guys have August 1st marked on those calendars (and bank accounts)!

6.18.15 - New UFO catcher, DigiFes, and other items

Over the last few weeks a few items have popped up, including:
  • A new Gabumon Crane Plush Prize / UFO Catcher (Don't expect these to be horribly expensive on Y!JP. Released alongside a few Agumon prizes)
  • New plastic lanyards featuring the children/crests. (They were for preorder on AmiAmi).
  • The line with Punimon/Tsunomon/Gabumon mini-figures, releasing in September, went up for preorder for around $45 USD.
  • A "mystery prize"! costing around $100 USD was put up on Bandai Premium (or was it Toei Webshop?) No word on what it is. Some guesses include Taichi's Goggles or one of the other kids' Digivices. I'm betting it's a D-3, with how they have been pushing Zero Two lately. I would like to jump in on this, but preorders end in July-- not sure if I'll have the money.
  • Also, another "mystery prize" will be given out to attendees of DigiFes. First of all, you order a ticket (you need a Japanese address), then hope you get lucky enough to attend via raffle. At the event you get a random gift. Again, no idea what it is, but I bet you anything something Yamato oriented will be there. Not looking forward to dropping money on this, let me tell you.
Also remember that the 15th Anniversary Crest/Tags are released this month! :D Just in time for all those winter cosplays.

I'm working mostly on my doujinshi section of this site for now as I don't expect much merch until DigiFes on August 1st.

5.9.2015 - Tri trailer, Can Badge, Plush Updates

I know I'm a bit late reporting on the tri trailer, but my limited connection prevented me from seeing it for awhile. The TV Series is now a theatrical 6 part anime. (Good quality, unknown length, could take anywhere from 1 year to 3 to air completely.) Yamato appears a few times and the words Taichi says, in my opinion, imply that 02 won't be entirely retconned, but possibly this will be an alternate timeline of Adventure, as if 02 didn't happen-- which is the best I could hope for. On the other hand, here's hoping the 02 exclusive cast gets a cameo. Alphamon somewhat supports this. There is a new character and all I'll say is I'm not fond of her and that she is there for the new "moe" generation (as I have described her elsewhere: Homura Akemi with a Fennekin). Let's hope this isn't a repeat of ReBuild of Evangelion.

Now, for actual Yamato-news. Sadly, Yuuto Kazama has been replaced. The entire cast was replaced with newer, fresher actors (in a sense, I believe this is like the mysterious moe girl, to appear to a new generation). The good news about this is most of the cast grew up with Digimon and respect it. I am anxious as I haven't watched any new anime in some time (most recent titles included RAINBOW, Madoka Magica, Ghost Hound, Princess Jellyfish, and Tsuritama. The latter is the same artist for tri, by the way.)

Click here for more information on Yamato's actor, Yoshimasa Hosoya. I have only seen Ghost Hound and he probably had a line in that, so I can't really give my impressions. Will probably do research at some point.

There are some small updates to the site, just including the most recent merchandise which were a sketchbook and a new wave of can badges based on previous cell phone strap/keychains, with the same "secret" Piedmon style ones.

Finally, over on my Facebook Group (DigimonCollect@Facebook), we discovered an ultra rare WereGarurumon Lottery Prize plush, which I added.
