10.31.15 - Halloween update~ tri Blu-Ray details, Yamato FigureArts Zero, exclusive merchandise previewed!

Okay guys. I'm a bit behind on posting, but the merch announced makes up for it! Let me start with the bad news, even if Yamato wouldn't prefer that. There's some limited/exclusive items first up. As you can see, for a Yama collector, this is gonna take some serious tracking-down. They are limited to the Marui Department Store chain. So, keep on eye out on Y!JP for these...

Pill Case - 800 Yen

Bottle Keychain (Gabumon) - 700 Yen
Tri Can Badges - 400 Yen
Tri Pouch (Gabumon) - 1000 Yen
POP Clear Standee (Tri Yamato Vers) - 1000 Yen
Signboards (Note: There are also a few other ones featuring poster art we've already seen) - 640 Yen
(Note 2, according to WtW, these are the groupings: Group 1 will be- Taichi and Agumon, Sora and Piyomon, Yamato and Gabumon, Mimi and Palmon, along with Poster design A and B.
Group 2 will be- Jou and Gomamon, Koushiro and Tentomon, Takery and Patamon, Hikari and Tailmon, along with Poster design C and D.)

Now to the not-limited:

I'm going to make a note of some tri puzzles which you can buy on AmiAmi. The real kicker is the second one (the one I'm linking to) with the Adventure-based tri art, located here.

Next up are these Digi-Butts, as we've fan-named them. Rubber straps with two ends featuring the Rookies. You can get them at AmiAmi (in a set only). Retail is 5054 Yen.

Next up is the tri blu-ray. I'm only covering the Amazon Exclusive Edition as it has the slipcover and cloth poster with all first pressings. It's around 8000 yen ($70 USD appx.) and will be up for order through very early December. You'll need a deputy service and a way to play Region 2 Blu-Rays. There are no english subtitles.

Can I get to my pride and joy though? This FigureArts Zero figure was announced:

The retail for this line is normally around 2800 yen, but it's unsure if the first pressing only comes with Gabumon or if it will be a little higher for including him, who knows... These are non-posable but pretty detailed. I have a height comparison with the Minato Arisato one from Persona 3 at our Facebook.

That concludes this post! Thanks for reading and good luck collecting!

8.9.15 - Collection Update

Wanted to share a small collection update. These are two items that were on my wish list for awhile now!
The first is the Blue Digivice Clip. These semitransparent clips were released with the Action Feature line in the US (and as far as I'm aware were never made in Japan). I tried to find out what set these came with as a kid and researched recently to no avail. I found a prototype Patamon that had a blue/teal button model, but never the blue/white. Lo and behold someone puts it up on eBay with a Zudomon figure (YamatoxJyou strikes again). No, this clip wasn't released with Zudomon, either.
Next is a MIB set of the US release of Matt and TK action figures. Not particularly rare but at a decent price so I couldn't pass these up despite owning the regular and TRU variants already. The biggest prize here is probably the sticker. I never see these loose.
My deputy will be paid by the end of September, so I'll be making a larger update then.

8.7.15 - Yamato DAF2015 Can Badge is up

So, my hunt for the DigiFes items has still been a complete bust, even with Y!JP. I noticed the phone cases went up, but the badges must have glazed me over (there's so many!). Anyway, the preorder for these ends on August 19th, so get them while you can!

Here is Yamato's.

8.2.15 - Interview with Yoshimasa Hosoya / Page Update

Just thought I would drop this here. Has some interviews with actors/actresses that didn't make it to the event, including a very lively Yoshimasa Hosoya who is our new Yamato Ishida.

Also, I have been compiling this for some time and it still isn't complete, but I've added my "Who is Yamato Ishida?" page to the site. It's very thorough detailing clothes, objects, family, cameo appearances, tri, ect. all into one page. Please take a look!

8.1.15 - Happy Odaiba Memorial Day! Updates + New PV

So, I'm sure you've all seen the PV by now. Not much new regarding Yamato, although we did get a really nice poster.
In the actual PV, Yamato shows up a few times. Nothing new here. I like how bright his eyes are but I still am getting used to the design, haha.

In other news, I made a huge site update after connecting with some more Yamato collectors. You can find their Links in my FAQ section! (As well as a site button, if you'd like to link this blog!)

I've also added the following items:
  • Yamato Washcloth
  • Yamato Spiral Notebook
  • Yamato Gift Card
  • Yamato Settei
  • Yamato / Gabumon Line Zero Two Magnets
  • Garurumon Cup
  • Peruvian Coca Cola Promotional Cards
  • Yamato Pinball Party Favor
  • Gabumon Japanese Game Peices
  • 15th Anniversary Clear File, Yamato / Gabumon
  • Takeru Takaishi Walkie Talkie
  • Yamato stickers / temporary tattoo

7.29.15 - DigiFes 2015 Merchandise UPDATE

Okay, this is the largest update I'll probably make until tri comes out. Prepare your wallets. (Note: I'm only including Yamato-relevant merchandise in this news update as well as only "new" merchandise, as a lot of things were already out.)

Let me start off by saying these are the items already released that will be sold at the DigiFes Event:
Digimon Calendar ($10), 2-Sided Circle Rubber Straps ($5 each), Can Badge Set (the previously Hobby exclusive one w/the shiny variants) ($3 each), the rubber strap set with the Piedmon keychain variants ($5 each), the randomized poster sets ($43 nabs you a set of 8), the clear file set that's been on the website awhile ($30 for the set).

There are also items like shirts, lights, fans, towels ect. featuring the "DigiFes 2015" logo, which I didn't include here. Also, some oddities include a Taichi jacket and a "Tool Box" of some sort. There's other items which feature all the kids/Digimon (including a tri specific clear file), but I don't feel them worthy enough to include on my Yamato specific blog. Here is the link for those interested: http://digimon-adventure.net/fes/goods.html

These are the NEW items being sold at the DigiFes Event:

Digimon Cap (I dubbed it the "Taito" cap) in two variants, here is one of them. It retails for $30.
Digimon Button Set ($7)
Digimon POP Acrylic Standee ($15) - Omegamon/Omnimon also availible. I just don't collect him.
Digimon POP Acrylic Standee ($7 a peice, but unknown if its only sold as a set of 8?)
Yet another can badge. That word is forever ground into my brain. ($5 each)
These appear to be Bromide Cards. This one is actually Takeru-centered, but they only showed Mimi, joe, Takeru, and Hikari.... ? ($5 each)
Acrylic Square Strap ($7)
Acyrlic Pin (?) ($6 each, unknown if only sold in a set)
Acrylic MULTI Standee (No idea why it's multi...) ($15)

Any items not sold out will be "made availible" after the event. I'm guessing like last year, they'll be up on Toei Webshop/PB within fourty-eight hours.

Whew! My exchange rate is a bit high, but I'm estimating (assuming I don't have to spend $40 for sets of eight) I'll be spending just shy of $100 USD (and that's if everything is availible on the webshop... markup on Y!JP sucks. I paid $40 for one can badge last year)!

6.18.15 - New UFO catcher, DigiFes, and other items

Over the last few weeks a few items have popped up, including:
  • A new Gabumon Crane Plush Prize / UFO Catcher (Don't expect these to be horribly expensive on Y!JP. Released alongside a few Agumon prizes)
  • New plastic lanyards featuring the children/crests. (They were for preorder on AmiAmi).
  • The line with Punimon/Tsunomon/Gabumon mini-figures, releasing in September, went up for preorder for around $45 USD.
  • A "mystery prize"! costing around $100 USD was put up on Bandai Premium (or was it Toei Webshop?) No word on what it is. Some guesses include Taichi's Goggles or one of the other kids' Digivices. I'm betting it's a D-3, with how they have been pushing Zero Two lately. I would like to jump in on this, but preorders end in July-- not sure if I'll have the money.
  • Also, another "mystery prize" will be given out to attendees of DigiFes. First of all, you order a ticket (you need a Japanese address), then hope you get lucky enough to attend via raffle. At the event you get a random gift. Again, no idea what it is, but I bet you anything something Yamato oriented will be there. Not looking forward to dropping money on this, let me tell you.
Also remember that the 15th Anniversary Crest/Tags are released this month! :D Just in time for all those winter cosplays.

I'm working mostly on my doujinshi section of this site for now as I don't expect much merch until DigiFes on August 1st.

5.9.2015 - Tri trailer, Can Badge, Plush Updates

I know I'm a bit late reporting on the tri trailer, but my limited connection prevented me from seeing it for awhile. The TV Series is now a theatrical 6 part anime. (Good quality, unknown length, could take anywhere from 1 year to 3 to air completely.) Yamato appears a few times and the words Taichi says, in my opinion, imply that 02 won't be entirely retconned, but possibly this will be an alternate timeline of Adventure, as if 02 didn't happen-- which is the best I could hope for. On the other hand, here's hoping the 02 exclusive cast gets a cameo. Alphamon somewhat supports this. There is a new character and all I'll say is I'm not fond of her and that she is there for the new "moe" generation (as I have described her elsewhere: Homura Akemi with a Fennekin). Let's hope this isn't a repeat of ReBuild of Evangelion.

Now, for actual Yamato-news. Sadly, Yuuto Kazama has been replaced. The entire cast was replaced with newer, fresher actors (in a sense, I believe this is like the mysterious moe girl, to appear to a new generation). The good news about this is most of the cast grew up with Digimon and respect it. I am anxious as I haven't watched any new anime in some time (most recent titles included RAINBOW, Madoka Magica, Ghost Hound, Princess Jellyfish, and Tsuritama. The latter is the same artist for tri, by the way.)

Click here for more information on Yamato's actor, Yoshimasa Hosoya. I have only seen Ghost Hound and he probably had a line in that, so I can't really give my impressions. Will probably do research at some point.

There are some small updates to the site, just including the most recent merchandise which were a sketchbook and a new wave of can badges based on previous cell phone strap/keychains, with the same "secret" Piedmon style ones.

Finally, over on my Facebook Group (DigimonCollect@Facebook), we discovered an ultra rare WereGarurumon Lottery Prize plush, which I added.
