9.17.15 - News keeps trickling in; more merchandise / interviews

Bokutachi has scans of the newest issue of V-JUMP, which includes an interview with Yoshimasa Hosoya. Unfortunetly, as of this posting, no one has translated them. Taichi and Sora's seiyuu are also in the interview.

In other news, Japanese webshop Animate has new Yamato / Gabumon items up for presale. Apparently the release date is (was?) 9/15/15. Taichi, Yamato, Hikari, and Takeru, along with their rookie Digimon and Digitama forms, appear to be the focus. Altogether my deposit was $29 USD for the following items. Here is a summary of what's availible:

Yamato Ishida Can Badge:
Price: 648 Yen (Appx $5 USD)

Yamato Ishida / Takeru Takaishi Clear File Set of 2:

9.16.15 - Official Website update adds more news about Tri. and Yamato

Thanks to great-blaster, we have a translation of some more story for Digimon Tri. Nothing Yamato specific, but worth reading.

He/She also translated the character section. Here are the Yamato relevant parts (which, in previous interviews when Yamato's "new" bass was mentioned seemed odd, now make sense):
"Ishida Yamato (CV: Hosoya Yoshimasa)
A 2nd year who attends Tsukishima General High School. He is in the class next door to Taichi and Sora. Although he looks cold by appearance, he is actually very considerate of his friends and has a fierce personality. His straightforward attitude often causes his opinions to clash with Taichi’s. He continues to play in a band much as he has done in middle school, as both bass and vocals. The “TEEN-AGE WOLVES” have been temporarily disbanded, perhaps due to differences in musical ideas among the band members, so he has recently formed a new band.
Gabumon (CV: Yamaguchi Mayumi) Yamato’s Digimon partner. He wears Garurumon’s fur coat, but he is really the same reptile Digimon as Agumon. His special attack is a small ball of flame, Petit Fire.
"

Will update with more as we get it!

9.14.15 - Tons of merchandise and some Tri. updates

Oh, gosh. So much news as of late! Be prepared for a long post Yamato fans.

First up, let's start with merchandise (considering it's time sensitive).

FINALLY, the DigiFES merchandise was added to Toei's webshop! You've seen my previous posts detailing the Yamato related merchandise: some plastic stands, can badges, and charms. Please note that the can badges are RANDOM buy 1 get 1 randomly, so only order if you like risking your cash. I found one on Y!JP, I'm going to stick it out to find the other. All other Yamato items can be purchases seperately.
You can buy the following items at Toei's Webshop.
No reservation date was given and even as I sent in my order through my deputy, some items were listed as "low stock", so keep in mind these are probably limited stock.

Next up in another web exclusive item. It's not directly Yamato related, but I felt it was worth mentioning. This amazing, large, polyster wall scroll (similar to a poster, but made of cloth), features the "Dragon Eye Lake" scene promotional poster. (I fangirl squealed when they kept the name. This was used in the original Japanese of the series', but to a Western fan it's more of a cool Digimon World reference). But uh, that price tag... Retails for 19940 Yen, around $190 USD.
Even further, we have a new rubber strap set [CharaRIDE]. I ordered mine through AmiAmi for around $40; Toei's Webshop has them also. Most people are saying these are packed in random boxes of 8, but all previous rubber straps were complete sets, so buying is kinda risky. You could always join my Facebook Digimon group (DigimonCollect@Facebook) to trade with others there.

Lastly, we have some tidbits about Tri thanks to the producer of the Tri as well as Taichi's new actor. I've posted the Yamato related ones below. You can read the original translation (by talented Onkei) at these links:
Part 1
Profile Bit: "Ishida Yamato- His love for his friends and his little brother hasn't changed. He still loves music, and he's still earnest about the things that he likes. The proactiveness and matured sides of him that you will chance to see from time to time will have an affect on the story, so please look forward to it."
Other: "On the other hand, Yamato still has the strong sense of justice that he had as a kid, and he’s grown up into the same fierce man who faces the hesitating Taichi and says, “Shouldn’t you be doing it this way?” The changes between the two, or rather, how the two grasp things differently, fits into “Digimon Adventure tri” and made me feel that people don’t always grow up in the same way. That sort of relationship between those two felt nice. "
I'm particularly happy that it seems Yamato and Takeru's relationship will be touched on.

Part 2
More profile: "Ishida Yamato with the Crest of Friendship: 2nd year in high school. He is in the class next door from Taichi and Sora. He forms a new band in high school and plays bass. Of course, he also does vocals."
Question was "If they had a party, who plays which part?": "Ishida Yamato: He’ll be in charge of the live background music with his newly practiced guitar. In the middle, Mimi will join in with the addition of singing and the entertainment heats up! "
Question was "Halloween: What sweet would everyone be?": "Ishida Yamato: I guess this idea is influenced by his French grandfather? Creme brulee. "

Yamato also appears in the new poster for Otomedia this month (as he did last month). Here is the poster and the line art that appears in the this month's issue. Scans credit to DigiPost.

8.28.15 - Collection update, Yamato featured in Tri plot summary, and Crest keychains released

Hey all,
any of you who preordered the crest keychain set will be looking forward to them coming in the mail soon! Unfortunetly, to obtain Yamato, you need to buy a full set of eight or hop onto auctions, but the whole set is pretty worth it. I'll post pics when I get mine with a more detailed description!
Also, in some Tri related news, (via WtW) I'm pleased to announce that the director of the series stated "I watched the first Adventure series to prepare myself and get a better grip on the characters’ personalities..." which makes me happy. However, he also talks about the kids (obviously) thinking more like high schoolers and the tribulations that come with, as well as the meanings of "tri" that will flow through the six films. I like that rewatching the series will reveal different connections... but I become more worried about a crappy love triangle plot with each passing minute.
To get away from that horrible feeling, there was also a small summary in the magazine scan that talked about Yamato, slightly:
"Taichi works up a sweat at soccer club while worrying about what to do for his future. Yamato gets ready to perform a live concert. Each of them live out their ordinary lives in their individual places, but mysterious events begin to occur throughout town. Then one day, when they look up at the Odaiba sky, they see…" (Translation by Onkei)
This ties into more of what the Tri. director said about portraying Taichi and Yamato's friendship and how their different interests parted them, but when they see each other all those old feelings come back.
Next, I have a tiny collection update thanks to my fellow Yamato collector, Em.
This washcloth is apparently some sort of UK exclusive. I've been after it awhile!

Next up is this beanie. Another unique item that's apparently official US merchandise.. At least Yamato's hair isn't flipped. Not the best quality, obviously.

Finally, I recieved my Animedia poster from the seller on Ebay (yellowmagic) I always go to (the first poster featuring Tri. artwork). I don't have a frame yet, but it's the same size as previously mentioned Otomedia posters, so at least I won't have to worry about any size differences. Notable things about Yamato include that he is holding his original digivice. Aside several re-released merchandise Digivices, including Yamato's signature blue one, this is some of the first Tri. media showing the original Digivice (maybe outside the trailers. It's been too long since I've watched them).

As always, I love to hear how your collections (even if they aren't Yamato related) are going! I'm happy to link your site in my Links section, so feel free to leave a comment or drop me an email!
I'll update again once I get my deputy package, in October/December, unless other noteworthy stuff comes up (well, duh Tri will be out by then... so, check back)!

8.22.15 - DigiFes Merch appearing?

Some merchandise has started to show up on Y!JP. I can't post the link here as my collector community is bidding, but I did update the How to Shop Guide with more search terms! Good luck and hopefully this is a good sign that more merchandise will be appearing on auction sites!

8.22.15 - Collection Update + New Collector Site Added

Hey all. I have a mail post today. First off is the US Matt and TK figures, MIB (well, the bubble was popped but I repaired it). I'm glad to finally add this to my two loose variants of Matt. That karate chop action, yo. Matt's temper in all its glory. My only peeve here is on the sticker inside Matt's hair (well, image) is flipped. The US doesn't find those things important. Sigh.

Next I got these stamps. Not sure where they are from but they use Japanese names and I bought them from an AUS seller. (Koushiros name is notably butchered. Could be a typo).  The seller listed them as (philately?) Cinderella stamps; fantasy based stamps not issued by a government body but still collectible. Pretty cool.
Also of note, I have added a Togemon collector's site to our Links. Give her a check out, its a pretty rad site!

8.29.15 - New UFO / Crane plush keychain: Gabumon

So, Bandai posted new crane game plush on their plush site (here), due out mid September. I'm not super excited (okay, that Goma!) But only because we already had Agumon, Patamon, and Gabumon in the last lot. I'd rather see more human characters.

Look for these on Yahoo! Japan about a week after release. Will probably run you 1500 yen each or less.
